New Slovak education minister seeks funding for testing fifth-graders' skills

Slovakia's newly appointed Education and Science Minister Martina Lubyova pledged to seek additional funding for testing the skills of fifth-graders in Slovak language and maths this academic year, TASR learnt. A nationwide test for fifth-graders aimed at assessing the quality of primary schools are in jeopardy due to a lack of funding in the ministry's budget, she said.
