New Czech anti-corruption fund set up

The newly established Otakar Motejl Fund will finance the first projects against corruption, this year with 6.5 million crowns, the fund's manager, Jiri Knitl told journalists on Tuesday. The fund is named after the late first Czech ombudsman Otakar Motejl (2000-2010). Some 2.6 million crowns are to be distributed among five NGOs such as Transparency International. Small associations that want town halls to provide the public with relevant information may seek contributions from another 1.3 million crowns, Knitl said.
