Over 7,300 municipal employees started a five-day strike in 112 offices on Thursday at 8am, the head of the union of public employees told a press conference on Thursday. The employees are demanding that after ten years of stagnation the wages and salaries of over 18,000 municipal workers should be finally raised. The action is taking place in keeping with the law. All strikers turned up at their offices but they did not take up work. Clients with urgent affairs, however, are served as usual, she added.
