More than 1,100 Slovaks declared personal bankruptcy in January

A total of 1,160 Slovaks declared themselves bankrupt in January, according to an analysis published on Thursday by CRIF-Slovak Credit Bureau (CRIF SK), which handles the credit registries of banking and non-banking houses. According to the analysis, the number of Slovaks who went bankrupt in January 2020 increased by just under 2 percent year-on-year, as courts declared 1,241 people bankrupt in January 2019. The number of personal bankruptcies fell by almost 60 percent from the previous month, when 2,703 people went bankrupt.
