Moldovan-born woman sent to Czech prison for acid attack

August 1st, 2019

The Plzen Regional Court today sent Anna Kroft, 46, a Moldovan woman with Czech citizenship, to six years in prison for causing severe bodily harm to three people by sulfuric acid in a night club in Plzen. Her victims, two men and a woman, suffered severe burns. They were hospitalised for weeks and underwent several operations. The verdict has not taken effect since both the defence counsel and the state attorney took time for considering an appeal. The defendant originally faced up to 12 years behind bars.
