Polish mines will extract up to 60 million tonnes of hard coal in 2020, the Ministry of State Assets said on Thursday. According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS), Polish hard coal extraction reached 61.86 mln tonnes in 2019, against 65.5 mln tonnes that had been originally planned. The extraction of lignite should exceed 50 million tonnes this year, the ministry added. According to GUS, Polish lignite extraction amounted to 50.3 million tonnes in 2019, against 60.0 million tonnes originally planned.
