German Chancellor Angela Merkel has extended her "heartfelt congratulations" to Prime Minister Viktor Orban on his election victory and said Hungary could continue to count on Germany as a "reliable partner", the PM's press chief said on Tuesday. "Hungary and Germany are bound together by a long and fruitful shared history and partnership," Merkel wrote in a telegram. "You can continue to rely on Germany as a reliable partner in our work on European and bilateral affairs," the chancellor wrote. Merkel wished Orban good luck, strength and success for his next term.
