Magyar-Hungarian Forum party submits petition for registration

The preparatory committee of new ethnic party Magyar Forum - Hungarian Forum submitted all the relevant documents for its registration, including a petition with more than 14,400 signatures, TASR learnt from Independent MP and committee member Zsolt Simon on Thursday. The Magyar Forum wishes to arrange the passing of the torch and introduce a new generation to the political scene as well as a respectable representation mostly for citizens of Hungarian ethnic descent. "It is also votes of the citizens of Hungarian ethnicity that are needed to make a positive change in Slovakia and we'd like to offer them the option of choice, so that their votes won't end up in the fold of the Smer-SD and SNS (Slovak National party) government," claimed Simon, adding that the party also rules out any future co-operation with far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (LSNS).
