The passenger terminal area at Lublin Airport in south-eastern Poland will be expanded by over 2,000 square metres by the end of the year, under a contract signed on Tuesday between the airport and Austrian construction company Strabag. The cost of the investment is estimated at 10.6 million zlotys (EUR 2.52mn). The construction work will be carried out by Strabag. A new terminal building segment will be built to house a waiting room for passengers, a new security check point, service rooms, Airport Security Service, the Customs Service and Border Service as well as technical rooms. After the expansion, passengers from the Schengen area will be serviced in the new part of the terminal and passengers from outside the Schengen area will be handled in the existing departure hall.
