Local governments receive EUR 13.7 m after storms, says interior minister

Despite the huge damage caused by heavy storms in August, the evaluation of losses ended within two weeks, Interior Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said in the Sejm (lower house) on Tuesday, stressing that local governments had received 58 million zlotys (EUR 13.7m). "The government immediately introduced simplified procedures in order to help rebuild damaged buildings and handed over 58 million zlotys to local governments for the people affected by the natural disaster," Blaszczak said, presenting a report on the measures taken by the government after heavy storms.
