Green opposition LMP has called on Prime Minister Viktor Orban to initiate cross-party talks on drafting a "national minimum" programme to combat climate change, party co-leader Erzsebet Schmuck told a press conference on Wednesday. Schmuck said that whereas President Janos Ader had also called for such cooperation, "the ruling parties seem to have no specific vision on the matter". She urged timely action to list and implement measures dealing with climate change. Schmuck said talk of a climate emergency in Hungary went far beyond "political rhetoric". "Time has run out," she said. "We have to act to ensure a decent quality of life for future generations."
