Lajcak can't see himself in government after February election

January 2nd, 2020

Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak (a Smer-SD nominee) has told TASR in an interview that can't see himself in the government that will emerge from the February general election. The reason for this is the course of events on the Slovak political scene. "I really appreciate the opportunity to serve the Slovak Republic as foreign affairs minister, and I actually feel fulfilled in this job. I've been the longest serving minister in Slovakia to date, and the second longest serving foreign affairs minister in the EU. However, following a rational analysis of what's happening on the political scene, I've come to the conclusion that I can't see myself in the future government," stated Lajcak.
