KSCM wants 2020 budget deficit to be 30 bn crowns at most

February 15th, 2019

The Communists (KSCM) will demand that the planned state budget deficit for next year should be no more than 30 billion crowns, the party leader, Vojtech Filip, told journalists after a meeting of the KSCM broad leadership today. If this demand is not met, the Communists may not support the state budget bill in the lower house of parliament, Filip said. The Communists are not a ruling party but they tolerate the minority cabinet of the ANO movement and the Social Democrats (CSSD) and major bills are pushed through the lower house thanks to them. Finance Minister Alena Schillerova (for ANO) prepared a 2020 budget draft with a deficit of 40 billion crowns.
