Krajci: Less than half of beds set aside for Covid-19 patients occupied

November 19th, 2020

The situation regarding the novel coronavirus epidemic is becoming stable and the increase in the number of patients admitted into hospital has been halted, Health Minister Marek Krajci said following a cabinet meeting on Thursday. There are currently some 1,800 coronavirus patients in hospital in Slovakia, which is less than half the number of allocated beds, Krajci said. The ideal figure would be no more than 500 patients, as they could be accommodated solely in infection wards. However, hospitals are ready even the situation becomes worse, he added.
