The Trade Union Confederation (KOZ) has proposed that the minimum wage in Slovakia should be raised to 635 euros a month next year (up 32.3 percent from this year), defending its proposal by pointing to positive macroeconomic developments and expected inflation, mainly in food prices. According to KOZ, this increase would ensure that the recommendations issued by the European Committee of Social Rights will be met. "The proposed minimum wage equals 60 percent of the average salary estimated for 2019," KOZ said.
