Judicial council fails to elect president of supreme court

The Slovak Judicial Council failed to elect a new Supreme Court president at its extraordinary session on Monday. Judges Jana Bajankova and Sona Mesiarkinova, the candidates in the second round of the vote, both failed to secure support from over 50 percent of the 18-member council.
