Judicial Council approves Gavalec as Slovakia's candidate for EU Court of Justice

Judge Miroslav Gavalec, who has been serving as the chairman of the Supreme Court's senate, has become Slovakia's candidate to be a judge at the Luxembourg-based Court of Justice of the European Union after Slovakia's Judicial Council unanimously approved his nomination at its session on Monday. Gavalec was proposed for the post by two Judicial Council members -- Elena Berthotyova and Juraj Kliment. Gavalec's nomination is now a subject to the government's approval.
