A lawmaker of radical nationalist Jobbik on Wednesday speculated that the government may be looking to relaunch the residency bond scheme, citing press reports. According to press reports, the government is in the process of "rebooting" the scheme and bringing back a simpler version of it with more favourable conditions, Adam Mirkoczki, the head of parliament's national security committee, told a press conference. Mirkoczki argued that the government had "not adequately refuted" the reports. He added that it was "no accident" that the scheme had been suspended last year, arguing that this had been a sign that it would be relaunched after the election.
