Janusz Wojciechowski a candidate for EC commissioner for agriculture

Poland's Janusz Wojciechowski has been named a candidate for EC commissioner for agriculture. The incoming head of the EC named her 27-strong team on Tuesday. Ursula von der Leyen is to lead the EC's 'college' of commissioners, who will take office on Nov. 1, assuming they secure approval from the European Parliament. Wojciechowski was the head of Poland's Supreme Audit Office in 1995-2001, a member of the European Parliament in 1999-2016 and is currently an auditor in the European Court of Auditors for the 2016-2022 term.
