Independent MP Erik Tomas on Thursday speculated that Igor Matovic's government had secret plans to cancel free school meals. "The anti-social government bulldozer continues to tear down social policies, and it hasn't stopped even before children," Tomas said, adding that free school meals, introduced during the previous school year, have helped to reduce school absences by 25 percent. In addition, 19 percent more children from marginalised groups began attending nursery schools, said Tomas. "The government is pretending to compensate for this with a tax bonus, but we still haven't learned its shape in detail," Tomas said.
