At a Monday meeting, the Polish government presented five new proposals for teachers in a bid to defuse an imminent strike that can threaten the exam season in Polish schools, but teachers unions say it is not enough as they continue to demand wage hikes. During a break in the meeting at the 'Dialogue' Centre for Social Partnership in Warsaw, Deputy PM Beata Szydło said that the government had presented five proposals to teachers, including the rescheduling of the 2020-planned wage hike to September 2019, shortening internship length and a minimum bonus amount for form teachers.
