Impact of Czech arms exports restriction does not worry Turkey

October 15th, 2019

Turkey does not consider the Czech arms exports restriction an obliging step but is not concerned about the impact, and asks NATO member states for solidarity with its military engagement in northern Syria, Turkish ambassador Ahmet Necati Bigali told Czech Senate head Jaroslav Kubera today. The Turkish government expects solidarity rather than criticism of its Syrian intervention from the other NATO members, Bigali said. Kubera called for a peace solution of the conflict and supported the sanctions against Turkey. He said this is in conformity with the stance of the Czech Foreign Ministry that prefers a diplomatic solution to a military conflict.
