Hungary not endangered by falloff in Russian gas supply to Europe

February 3rd, 2012

Hungary's gas supply is secure even if it has eased off from the direction of Austria, the managing director of a major Hungarian gas company said on Friday. Managing Director of FGSZ Foldgazszallito Zrt Janos Zsuga told MTI that from the east the inflow of all gas under contract had been confirmed. Reports of Friday indicated that the EU was making preparations in case of another gas-supply crisis similar to occasions over the past decade when Russian gas imports via Ukraine were halted.
