The importance of human rights defence in Czech foreign policy has diminished as people for whom this was a personal issue do not rule the country any more, MEP, former foreign minister and dissident Alexandr Vondra said at the international conference Forum 2000 in Prague today. However, the perception of human rights in Western countries has been changing, too, said Vondra (senior opposition Civic Democrats, ODS), who also occupied the posts of EU affairs and defence minister.
