Poland's ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party would win the Oct. 13 general election with 45 percent support on turnout of 53 percent, according to a simulation run by PiS and cited by daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. With turnout of 57 percent it would garner 48 percent of the vote, while if turnout were as high as 59 perent, PiS would win with 57 percent. The party would achieve an absolute majority in the Sejm (lower house) in all of the three scenarios. The Civic Coalition (KO), an electoral bloc comprising opposition parties Civic Platform (PO), Nowoczesna and local-government activists, the Left (Lewica) alliance of Poland's liberal and left-wing parties, the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD), Spring and Together as well as the agrarian Polish People's Party (PSL) would make it to parliament while the Confederation (Konfederacja) (KORWiN and the National Movement) would remain outside in each of the scenarios.
