Stefan Harabin has informed the justice ministry that he has been suspended as a Supreme Court judge as of Dec. 1, TASR learnt on Monday. "He cited his retirement as the reason," said ministry spokesperson Zuzana Drobova. Parliament passed an amendment to the law on judges and associate judges that as of Oct. 15 banned judges from carrying out their profession if they run as candidates for seats in the Slovak or European Parliaments. Harabin is running in the 2020 general election at the top of the Homeland party slate.
