About half a million homes, almost 13 percent of all dwellings in Hungary, could undergo renovations or upgrades in the coming year, according to a survey conducted by economic research institute GKI with the support of listed building materials maker Masterplast. The representative survey, conducted each quarter, shows about 16 percent of detached homes could be renovated in the coming year, while just 8 percent of flats in pre-fabricated Socialist-era housing could be upgraded.
