The Hungarian government continues to reject any quota system for the resettlement of migrants in the European Union, Gergely Gulyas, the head of the Prime Minister's Office, said at a regular press conference on Thursday. The resettlement quota, "which has resurfaced time and again in recent weeks", is a "last, desperate attempt" by the outgoing European Commission to "at least partially mask its own failures" in front of the promoters of the quota system, he said. Hungary would only be willing to support an "expulsion quota scheme" and participate in its implementation, Gulyas said.
