Govt approves report on 2018 budget implementation

The government on Tuesday passed a resolution to approve a report on the implementation of the 2018 budget, the Government Information Centre reported, adding that last year's budget revenue totalled PLN 380 billion (EUR 88.58 billion). Last year's budget incomes exceeded the plan by PLN 24.3 billion (EUR 5.66 billion). In 2018, expenses amounted to PLN 390.5 billion (EUR 91.03 billion), and were lower by PLN 6.7 billion (EUR 1.56 billion) or 1.7 percent than the planned spending. The budget deficit totalled PLN 10.4 billion (EUR 2.19 billion) and was almost 75 percent less than the planned maximum limit of PLN 41.5 billion (EUR 9.67 billion). Poland's economy expanded by 5.1 percent and exceeded the plan by 1.3 points. The unemployment rate stood at 5.8 percent at the end of the year. Employment grew by 7 percent while average pay went up by 5.3 percent year on year.
