Government approves average 3.3 pct increase in pensions in 2019

The Polish government has approved a draft law that will increase pensions and disability benefits by an average 3.26 percent, but not less than PLN 70 (EUR 16.3), from March 2019, the government's press office (CIS) said on Tuesday. The minimum pension and disability benefits for those unable to work will be raised to PLN 1,100 (EUR 256), up by 25 percent compared with 2016. The minimum disability benefits for those with a partial disability will be hiked to PLN 825 (EUR 182) from the current PLN 772.35 (EUR 180), CIS said.
