Foreign Minister Petricek to run for Social Democrat deputy head

Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek wants to run for the post of deputy chairman of Czech Social Democrats (CSSD) at their congress in March, the server iDnes.cz said today. Petricek will ask for the nomination at the Friday meeting of the Prague party branch where he is registered. Petricek is facing the criticism by President Milos Zeman and the Communists (KSCM) who keep afloat the minority government of Prime Minister Andrej Babis's ANO and the Social Democrats. Social Democrat leader Jan Hamacek has dismissed the idea of sacking Petricek.
