FM: Poland demands strong cohesion, CAP policies

Poland will continue to demand strong cohesion and common agricultural policies in the next EU budget, Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said on Monday, commenting on the cuts to the EU budget proposed by the European Commission.The minister stressed the issue was important for Poland and a number of other EU member states. "It is a position shared by a group of countries. Poland coordinates the 'friends of cohesion policy' group; consultations are being carried out in Brussels, and we will fight together for the budget so that it is fair to those countries that benefit from the two policies. This group includes more than ten countries," the foreign minister said at a conference held during the European Economic Congress in the Polish southern city of Katowice.
