The first young of the rare earless monitor lizard (Lanthanotus borneensis), one of they world's rarest and at the same time least known reptiles, hatched in the Prague zoo on Sunday, the zoo has said in a press release. It expects further young to emerge from the remaining eggs in the days to come. "This extremely rare endemic reptile was born in captivity for the first time in Japan in 2014. Now Prague succeeded in this after two years of breeding," the zoo said on Monday.
