Hungary's government plans to introduce further economy protection measures next February-March in order to preserve the achievements of the economy and its 2 percentage point lead in growth compared with the average European Union figure, Finance Minister Mihaly Varga said on Tuesday. The majority of measures will focus on the labour market because preserving jobs is a top priority, he said after a meeting of the National Competitiveness Council. The employment rate has increased from 54.9 percent in 2010 to above 70 percent, which has been one of the most important achievements of Hungary's economy in the past decade, he added. There are significant reserves in Hungary's labour market and tasks include simplifying employment for young people, he said.
