A key goal in the coming years is to reduce the tax burden on labour and businesses further and gear the tax system towards employment and entrepreneurship, a finance ministry official has said. Norbert Izer, state secretary for tax affairs, told an international conference of tax experts on Thursday that Hungary's competitiveness was growing thanks to tax reforms in recent years such as cuts to income tax and employment-related contributions and to a more effective tax collection regime. The government will continue along this path, he added.
