Smer-SD chairman Robert Fico is convinced that Slovakia will wind up in a political impasse following the 2020 parliamentary election, TASR learnt on Thursday. Speaking at a press conference in Kostolne Kracany (Trnava region), Fico did not even rule out the prospect of the election having to be repeated. "If Mr. [Andrej] Kiska and others like him believe that there's some way for them to form a government, then they should think again," Fico said, adding that Smer-SD aspires to win the 2020 race. According to Fico, fellow coalition party Most-Hid will find it difficult to make it into parliament, although the odds are much more favourable for the other current partner, the Slovak National Party (SNS).
