Fico expresses gratitude to all SNP participants

Head of the senior ruling Smer-SD party Robert Fico said in a video published on Facebook on Thursday that the Slovak National Uprising (SNP) was the brightest moment in Slovakia's history. "I want to express my thanks and respect not only to Slovaks who participated in the SNP but also to participants from other countries, especially a group of French guerrillas, which operated mainly near Strecno [Zilina region]. Let's pay homage to all people who participated in the SNP," said Fico, who is currently in France due to work related duties.
