The number of Czechs who died as tourists abroad fell slightly in the tourist season last year, Marketa Meissnerova, the director of the Foreign Ministry consular department, told journalists on Tuesday, adding that there were 101 of them, seven fewer than in 2016. The diplomatic offices most often dealt with the request to have substitute documents issued, although their number, too, declined compared with the previous year. The number of Czechs needing to be hospitalised increased slightly and that of accidents was unchanged, Meissnerova said. In 2017, most Czechs died in Croatia, one of the most favourite destinations of Czech tourists.
