Europe cannot be seen as fully united without the Western Balkans, Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said on Thursday in the western city of Poznan as he opened the second day of debates in the three-day Western Balkans summit. The summit gathered officials from countries taking part in the Berlin Process, an initiative that supports the integration of the six Western Balkan nations with the European Union.Czaputowicz, addressing the opening of the Civil Society Forum and the Business Forum, said that Poland regarded the EU enlargement policy as one of the most efficient mechanisms of European cooperation. "By stronger cooperation with Western Balkan countries we first of all want to increase the stability and development of the region," he said, adding that accepting the Western Balkan countries as new EU members would benefit the EU and the continent as a whole.
