EC revokes swine fever infection zone in Slovakia

The European Commission has revoked the African swine fever virus (ASFV) infection zone in Slovakia after the situation swiftly stabilised thanks to the adopted measures, the Slovak agriculture ministry reported. Nevertheless, the virus still persists in wild boars, and further occurrence of the disease will depend on the approach of breeders, hunters and other concerned parties, the ministry warned.
