EC raises Hungary 2019 GDP forecast to 4.4 pc

The European Commission has raised its projection for Hungarian economic growth this year to 4.4 percent from 3.7 percent. The growth projection contained in its quarterly forecast released on Tuesday is above the government's target of 4 percent. In the first quarter, the economy grew by an annual 5.3 percent. The commission has left its forecast for growth next year unchanged at 2.8 percent.
