The European Commission has turned to the Polish president, prime minister and parliament to suspend work on a bill regarding courts until further consultations, EC spokesman Christian Wigand told a press conference. He said that on Thursday, the deputy head of the European Commission Vera Jourova sent a letter to the Polish president, the Sejm and Senate speakers and the Polish PM regarding a bill in the Polish parliament that raises concerns of the EC. In the letter she strongly encouraged the Polish authorities to consult the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe on this project.
