An early general election would clearly benefit PM Andrej Babis's ANO movement at the cost of others, if held in the Czech Republic due to the Communists' refusal to back the 2020 budget bill submitted by the minority cabinet of ANO and the Social Democrats (CSSD), Josef Koukal writes in Pravo today. A few days ago, Babis threatened to provoke an early election if the budget bill, completed by the ANO-controlled Finance Ministry and projecting a 40-billion-crown budget gap, failed to make it through the Chamber of Deputies.
