Drought causes EUR 464m in agricultural losses

Drought-related damages in Poland estimated at over PLN 2.0 billion (EUR 464m). Up to 147,100 Polish farms have suffered due to drought conditions. This year's heat wave has affected some 2.5 million hectares, the Agriculture Ministry has informed PAP. According to data provided by the ministry, over 227,000 hectares of crops have been destroyed by over 70 percent. The largest number of affected farms are in the Zachodniopomorskie and Lubelskie provinces.
