Double-decked coaches to be deployed on Bratislava-Komarno line

Double-decked passenger coaches for selected train connections on the route from Bratislava to Komarno (Nitra region) and back will be deployed from Monday, September 16, by train operator RegioJet, which operates regional train connections there on an order from the Transport and Construction Ministry, the carrier told the media on Friday. This will increase the transport capacity on this single track railway. Sets composed of double-deckers will increase the transport capacity of the busiest trains in the morning and afternoon peak hours. "Until the throughput of the line to Komarno is increased, the deployment of double-deckers is the only way to further increase the capacity of connections, which are running today in 20-minute intervals in the peak hours," said the carrier.
