Starting effective cooperation and introducing the opportunity for Slovak companies to participate in national armaments projects was the main goal of Thursday's meeting of Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad with more than fifty representatives of Slovak defence and security industry companies and organisations in Trencin. "A strong and dynamic defence industry is a prerequisite for security and peace in the transatlantic area," Nad said. "So far, our involvement in EU and NATO projects has been meagre -- in EDIDP (European defence industrial development programme) in 2019 we were the only country in the entire European Union that didn't receive a single grant," the minister said.
