Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad on Wednesday signed a decree to declassify a dossier on the incident in which a Slovak military transport aircraft crashed near the village of Hejce in Hungary in 2006, claiming the lives of 42 people. The defence minister was responding to the long-term demands of a civil association linked to the families of the dead soldiers. "The dossier on the An-24 crash will be available for viewing for families as well as the public as of July 31. Forty-two families will finally be able to learn about all circumstances of the crash in which they lost those close to them," Nad said.
