The Slovak army is in a "pitiful" condition, but there is a "historic" chance to rearm it, Parliamentary Chairman and Slovak National Party (SNS) leader Andrej Danko said at an extraordinary session of parliament during a debate on the modernisation of the army on Friday. Danko added that he considers the Russians to be friends, but not partners when it comes to arms sales. However, he wants Slovakia to have a good relationship with both Russia and the United States. With regard to the purchase of personnel vehicles for the army, he stressed that nothing has been bought yet.
