Czechs may cope with EU presidency more cheaply than in 2009 - PM

April 1st, 2019

The Czech Republic may cope with its EU presidency in the second half of 2022 more cheaply than with its previous and first ever presidency in 2009 that cost 3.5 billion crowns, PM Andrej Babis told media after a cabinet meeting today. The cabinet discussed a document, which is an initial piece of information about the requirements linked to the Czech presidency, but which does not say how much the preparations for and the course of the 2022 EU presidency will cost.
