Czechs consider local polls most important, EU polls least - poll

January 27th, 2012

Czechs view local polls, from which town councils and assemblies emerge, as the most important type of elections, and they consider elections to the EP the least important of all, a STEM poll showed. The respondents assessed the importance of various types of elections on a scale from one to five, with one marking the lowest importance. Sixty-eight percent of those polled gave the mark five or four to local elections, 62 percent to the elections to the Chamber of Deputies, 58 percent to presidential and regional elections, one third to Senate elections and 29 percent to EU elections.
